League match 17/09/11

Aspull Jnr Dynamos 3 – 7 Jets

A fantastic first win of the season for the Jets, where their good play finally resulted in the end product, goals.

The first half started well with Liam getting an early goal after an individual dribble through the defence. Matthew then had a shot from the left that went wide and Nathan put another shot over the bar with his left foot. Liam had another good run down the right wing and crossed it to Nathan who shot wide again. Aaron then had a good long range strike that the keeper saved. The second goal came from Aaron winning a drop ball on half way, chipping it forward to Nathan, who finished it well. Aspull then got one back when Oliver tried to stop the ball from going behind for a goal kick, setting it up for the Aspull striker. The Jets got their third when Ted put a good cross into Adam L, who stuck it in the corner. Finally Aspull were gifted a second goal, Ted trying to clear a corner hit it high in the air, Oliver failed to catch it and Ted knocked it in for an og when trying to hook the ball away, 3-2 at half time.

In the second half Liam again got an early goal, converting a good corner in by Matthew. Then Aspull  got their third, with a good goal from a long kick out by their keeper. The Jets continued to dominate play, James and Adam L having a good interchange on the left, Adam L shooting wide. Adam L got his second from a great ball cleared out by Joel, putting Adam L free to strike in the corner. Liam then got his hat trick chipping in a pass from Adam L. James had  a good free kick on target headed away, then getting a goal, when Ted crossed it to him unmarked at the far post. The whole team played well all game with some excellent passing and movement.
