St Andrew’s Jets Under 10’s
League match 10/09/11
Cherrybrook 2 – 1 Jets
Another disappointing result for the Jets. In a game where they again created enough chances to win, but only got one goal.
The first half started with a good save from Adam B, who played in goal for this game. The Jets attacked with some good passing moves getting several corners. Ted had a header saved from a good corner in by Nathan. The first goal fell to Ted who picked up a ball cleared by the Cherrybrook keeper on the edge of the box and chipped it into the top of the net. The Jets kept the pressure on, with Nathan having an on target long range strike saved. Cherrybrook then equalised with a good goal on the break. The Jets continued to play well getting numerous corners, James striking one with his left foot that was saved and Adam L having a good chip from the left put over the bar. Just before half time Cherrybrook scored their second from a scrappy ball that the Jets failed to clear.
In the second half the Jets continued to play well and attack, having at least 50% of the territory despite playing uphill against a strong wind. Aiden had a good strike that went over the bar from a cleared James corner. Adam B played some good balls from kick outs and goal kicks. One fell to Adam L, who played James in on the right, his shot leaving the keeper stranded, but going wide of the left hand post. Matthew had a good free kick that was saved. The last 5 minutes was all the Jets, finally Adam L worked a good shot past two defenders at the right hand post, the keeper just tipping it round for a corner. Cherrybrook had few real chances, all being dealt with well by Adam B.
