St Andrew’s Jets Under 9’s
Friendly match 07/05/11
Jets 3 – 2 Lourdes FC
The Jets managed another win, in a friendly, before their final league game of the season next week.
They started the first half looking half asleep and not up for it at all. Their passing was poor and the defence was all over the place. Lourdes managed to score twice, the first from their keeper kicking out and the ball bouncing clear through to their attackers, the second from a scrappy goal mouth scramble. Although the Jets created a few chances and Adam B had a long range shot, they did not really threaten, going in two down.
Craig must have given them the “Fergie treatment” at half time because they came out a different team. Their passing was much better and they controlled possession and the game, Lourdes not really having a decent chance at all in the second half. The first goal came from Nathan holding the ball up well on the left before passing in to Adam L, who was clear in the box, finishing with a strike into the top of the net. The second was from Nathan, who struck from the edge of the area, the ball bobbled through the defenders and into the corner. Finally Liam got the winner after dribbling through two defenders before shooting into the corner.
Scorers: Adam L, 1; Nathan, 1; Liam, 1;
MoM: Adam L for a good strike and all round performance.
