St Andrew’s Jets Under 9’s

League match 23/04/11

Jets 2 – 0 Hindley Town

The Jets finally got back to winning, with a convincing performance beating Hindley Town 2-0.

The first half started well with commitment from all the players, the team having only one sub with Liam and Ted both on holiday. The Jets played well showing discipline in defence and some good attacking moves, but nothing that resulted in a goal. It finished a tight and tense nil-nil at half time.

In the second half the Jets began to pass the ball more fluidly and started to create chances, Nathan finally getting the first from an Adam B corner. After the goal, the Jet’s confidence returned and they started to play some really good passing football, having the upper hand over Hindley. The second goal came from Nathan again, who put a long range free kick on target inside the left post, watched closely for any rebound by James. Oliver kept them in the game with a good reaction save, he covered all the corners well and his distribution from hand and goal kicks was good throughout.

Scorers: Nathan, 2

MoM: Oliver, for a clean sheet
