St Andrew’s Jets Under 9’s
League match 19/04/11
Ladybridge Athletic 6 - 0 Jets
The third defeat in a row for the Jets who are creating lots of chances, but just not scoring.
They lost the home game against Adlington 2-0 after a 1-1- draw away and were by all accounts by far the best team, Adlington scoring their only two chances. They then lost 3-1 to Bromley Cross away.
Against Ladybridge they were muscled out by a larger team on a small pitch, but the match was not as one sided as the score suggested with some good moves and attacks, although few clear chances. The first half ended 3-0 down, the Jet’s best chances coming from James getting a free kick on the edge of the area, his free kick looked like it was going in the top corner, only to be deflected for a corner, off a head in the Ladybridge wall. The subsequent corner from James, was nearly put in by Liam at the front post, before he ended up tangled on the ground with a Ladybridge defender. The second half was similar with a good start and some good spells from the Jets, Aaron had a half chance and Aiden put a long range header just wide from a clearance from a corner. Near the end, Adam B blasted wide the best chance of the game for the Jets, after a good attack.
