St Andrew’s Jets Under 9’s

League match 13/11/10

Boothstown Rangers 0 – 2 Jets

This was a scrappy local derby match played in a biting wind on a small and narrow pitch. Neither team had the advantage in the first half, the Jets didn’t really look awake. The narrow pitch meant there were lots of throw-ins and little flowing play. Oliver had one save he put against the post and the Jets had a couple of half chance, long range efforts. They went in nil-nil at half time.

The second half was better from the Jets, who played more in the Boothstown half, but it was still a scrappy battling game in midfield. Liam got the first with a good strike from outside the box, after Nathan and James had worked the ball forward. Liam’s second came from a great break he made down the right, smashing it into the top left hand corner of the net, from outside the area again. Defensively Joel and Aiden were solid all game and Oliver covered the little he had to, so ensuring their clean sheet.
