Sunday 5th September -  Flames 5 v 2 Woodbank JFC

Playing their first game this season in The Thameside District League on a Sunday instead of Saturday, Flames played at home to Woodbank.  A tight start saw the score 0 – 0 at the half, although St Andrews probably felt a little unlucky not to be ahead.

Second half though chances began to be converted, and the home team pressed home their advantage.  Liam was getting to grips in midfield and Enis made it 1 – 0.  Khalil made it two, and Morgan three, but the visitors then came back with two quick strikes to make a game of it, their striker looking really dangerous.  Flames however, regained their cushion with Khalil getting his second goal, and then James scored in his debut performance following up from an Enis free kick.  In the end it was a deserved 5 – 2 scoreline.  What a great start.

MOTM  went to James Axon.
