The Hawks were away to Turton Tigers in an early season top of the table clash. This was to be the definitive game of two halves!!! The Tigers were dominant in the first half opening their account on 4 mins. A swift reply on 13 mins from Sam D some 25yrds out looked like the makings of an even game. That was not to be as the Tigers piled on the pressure scoring a further 3 first half goals on 16, 20 &40+2 mins. Half-time score 4-1 to Turton.
The second half proved to be very different, after a determined half-time team talk the Hawks started to play the football with determination that they had shown last week. Jack Bocock scored on 52 mins and then further pressure from Tom Gaskill culminated in an OG ( 71mins) as Tom whipped in a fierce cross and the Tigers left back headed into his own goal. Sam D went close again and Danny H also had chances whilst under pressure from a determined Tigers defence. As the Hawks pushed for the equaliser the Tigers pounced scoring a crushing 5th goal on 78mins. Full time 80 mins 5-3. Man of the Match went to Tom Gaskill rewarding his determination and dedication, well done Tom.
